My work develops through a layered process that moves between photography, collage, scanning, and painting.

My work is the art of creating by combining and changing. Warping, cropping, and merging images until they stand as their own unique individual picture. It is a Mixed Media process, but it is really like modern art alchemy. The process involves many different techniques, but the goal is always this. To combine the elements and spirits of several images, until they are one, and have a soul all their own.

I hoard images, and see art all around me in places that often get completely ignored. I capture them by photographing these textures and forms at close range on my iPhone. Isolating the details until they become abstract. Rusted metal doors, water damaged walls, peeling wallpaper, etc. These photos are kept in an album and are combined through double exposure, further abstracting them. Then I collect found imagery. Images from magazines, advertisements, comic books, newspapers, and my own drawings or watercolor studies. Using a high powered scanner, I take all these images and use them as source material.

All of these compositions are now collaged into singular images, which are then reprinted and physically altered more. Allowing ink to bleed through the application of water, chemicals or paint. Finally, when dry, I will often paint further onto the final composition until a completed work is achieved.
